President José Antonio Kast’s administration has promoted measures in crime control, economic reactivation, international cooperation and social policies, along with the implementation of plans in health, energy and education. 

The ceremony took place on the eve of the institutional anniversary of Carabineros (uniformed police service). It was attended by Public Security Minister Trinidad Steinert and the director general of Carabineros, Marcelo Araya, among others. 

The new structure will strengthen security within prison facilities, making it easier to combat organized crime. 

The Chilean president participated in a breakfast meeting with Argentine authorities at the Chilean embassy in Buenos Aires and held a bilateral meeting with the Argentine president.
